in IDEAL PARADISE clash the stage becomes a burning sense and a material space for a collection consisting of documents, body practices and experiences, that emerged during the working process of the multi-part series IDEAL PARADISE in public spaces and in the museum. the absent spaces of the former interventions and performative installations - like amongst others the weltmuseum, the volkskundemuseum, the aqua zoo of "haus des meeres", the main library oder (also fallow) urban spaces - are interrelated through sound recordings, choreographic compositions and body memories. the negotiated subjects and texts about terrorism, appropriation and erotic racisms are embedded by using several strategies of translation: in this transfer of different informed spaces into one single space stable (media) and unstable (physicalities and subjective memories) documents are activated and unfold their presence. they exist simultaneously or relate to each other, and create a polyrhythmic presence in soundscapes by günther auer. the theatre space itself is understood as a museum, in which different pasts meet each other and originate new constellations. a space emerges that is changing and colliding or layering different realities. at the same time it enables an autonomous reality as performative presence of all present bodies. claudia bosse's processual and site-specific working method condenses itself in the theatre and creates a choreography of co-habitation and political acting.

IDEAL PARADISE clash is the next step heading for the new production IDEAL PARADISE that will premiere in june 2016 in the urban space in vienna. the project is part of the overall project (katastrophen 11/15) ideal paradise by claudia boss and a group of international artists, dancers, performers and theoreticians and considers catastrophe as a tipping point of society. until now four steps of development have been presented: a first step of IDEAL PARADISE in the framework of donaufestival 2015 in krems, a second step to IDEAL PARADISE was a installation in six spaces of the weltmuseum vienna in the framework of the festival ImPulsTanz, which became a score for a choreographed performance in a third step to IDEAL PARADISE. in autumn 2015 urban laboratory IDEAL PARADISE intervened in several places in vienna, like in the aqua zoo of "haus des meeres", the public swimming pool at stadthalle, the main library and the colombusplatz.

claudia bosse about the steps to ideal paradise
in my installation a first step of IDEAL PARADISEthere were voices from the collection of interviews some democratic fictions (together with günther auer): voices of people coming from different geo-politic perspectives who reflect upon crisis and radical changes in society, people who thought about religion and democracy, about life maxims and concepts of freedom as well as political alternatives. they were the basis of this installation. it were especially the voices coming from cairo and athens, of the self-built hyperreal and anthropomorphic objects and dwellings, which were able to be heard. with the installation of six areas - a second step to IDEAL PARADISE in the world museum of vienna - i have replaced the voices with objects of the world museum's collection. those objects act as colonial witnesses and present the nature of our middle-european identity through the perspective of other cultures. the access to history through the specific types of collections, their historical categorization and current classification through the on-site curators reflects simultaneously our present reality. to the collection, i added videos which showed reactions to the collection and the museum, as well as sounds with my personal, recorded thoughts. displaying the different aspects of the collection with the autonomously invented topics in the prevailing rooms.

topics IDEAL PARADISE
i will name the topics which have been developed in the places of "neue burg" and simultaneously, the requirements of the applied practice of the urban laboratory and consequently, the performance in halle G and the performative compositions of the city.

- arranging of knowledge, the collections and cultural projections
- territory and appropriation
- ideology and terror
- anthropology and erotic racism
- percieving objects
- ritual, fetish and alternative forms of society.

in a performative practice lasting for two months the urban laboratory IDEAL PARADISE replaces the objects and the context of the museum with different city-areas. their staging, usage and social negotiations are objects and concrete context of further examination and are confronted with our identities, which should be de-colonialized. those – worked out in the museum room-specific and topic related narrations, are put to practice through the media of the objects, the picture, the document, the sound, the language and lighting - translated the laboratory as methodological interference in the city. it creates situations with bodies from different background (nationality and profession), unfolds them at different places and confronts them to the urgent question of our presence. which forms of living (together) are possible or differently thought of in this current drastic change in politics in europe? which boundaries produce which lack of resource room? how can art be made esthetically effective during this time and with which strategies does it operate in which urban fields? methods and realizations will be examined in different areas of the city and will be related to the found homogeneous and hybrid general public. the work from the museum will be performed in the city – now as more performative interventions of bodies and / or as installative performance of media and objects.

CLASH
in IDEAL PARADISE clash, the experiences and materials, which have been collected from different places in the world museum and during the urban laboratory, will be accumulated and concentrated. the phases of the urban laboratory might have consisted of locating techniques, methods and access to certain places (beginning of october to the end of november) and a then following deepening of the selected places with the specific techniques, performative models and / or installation approaches and in the focus of individual topics (of the museum) (from the middle of october until the end of november), which were advertised as publically announced fragments. thus, is the phase of deepening a choreographic composition of sounds, actions, performative methods, the places, topics and physicality related. the absent rooms of the previous steps in the working process, the collected experiences and memories will be transferred and displayed into one room. a choreography made out of body-memories, memories of the absent rooms, which the bodies bear within them. memories of rooms which were different rooms, of actions and physicalities. traces of memories, registered through the performative practice of the co-presence in other rooms, of the attaching and feeling of the other rooms and nature. these traces will be carried within the bodies and activated in continuously new rooms and produce there, thus, possible potential usages. the practicing body becomes an archive. the subjective of the memories, manifested in the body, transfers to the room and disposes of, hits other bodies, becomes a body, out of different bodies and actions. sounds from the city, from the outside, meet in the inside of halle G, overlay and assemble, building something new. a remix of rooms, which are going to be one in this room – one room, which consists of different ones. it treats actions, choreographies and the creating of situations as operative interventions in absent contexts or flows of movements, functionalities to replace these, to irritate, to arouse emotions. the intervening bodies become witnesses of the absent rooms, as archives of previous actions and practices. they do so with esthetical formulations, choreographic settlements, in the way that they react to bodies of the other people present, to the rhythm of absent places and their contexts, to their sounds.

IDEAL PARADISE clash is part of the series IDEAL PARADISE, that is the last chapter of the research cycle (katastrophen 11/15) ideal paradise that has started in 2013 dealing with the configuration of the (political) reality and its ideological constructions. (katastrophen 11/15) ideal paradise by claudia bosse and a group of international artists, dancers, performers and theoreticians investigates the structure of catastrophe as a tipping point of society and generates several formats like performances, choreographies, theatre works, installations, interventions, lectures and workshops. sometimes the collection of interviews, some democratic fictions, that has been emerging in collaboration with günther auer since 2011 and consists of personal conversations about democracy, freedom, terrorism, state, history, identity conducted in cities like new york, tunis, cairo, frankfurt, zagreb, tel aviv, brussels and beirut.
