Cracks in Landscape
is a performative poem in a space shared with the audience, which is reconfigured and evolves with every performance and in every space. Claudia Bosse creates a tactile performative landscape amongst the audience, sensually connecting activated materials such as latex skins, bones, feathers, clay, salt, earth, metal, fabric and stone. It combines fragments of text with movement, relationships and sound, opening up collective speculation about our relationship with the living environment and the planetary garden that is Earth.
Our planet is covered with wounded landscapes, landscapes that reveal the signs of their human impacts, wars, climatic changes, extraction of materials, or even access to the energies we humans believe we need to survive. People dig into and alter the movements of the earth, burrowing into its layers. Wounded landscapes house spirits within them, spirits that breathe into the landscape, into time, and show their traces.
Landscapes inhabited by ghosts
Landscapes that harbour the dead
Landscapes that harbour signs of nuclear devastation
Collapsed tunnels or wounded landscapes
Their substrate and their proliferations
Reading in landscapes
Reading in hybrid landscapes
Reading in the environment
Listening with the body and its senses
Is it an oracle or a novel
Is it a short story or an epic novel
Is it silent
It is materialized past and future
We step on futures paved with the living matter
We step on sleeping seeds
Following the performance at Anti Sezona 2025 in Zagreb, Cracks in Landscape will take place in 2026 in Geneva as part of the Echomorphose festival and at the Weisses Haus gallery in Vienna.
Cracks in Landscape is part of the performative series haunted landscape/s. at the centre of haunted landscape/s are volcanoes, open-cast mines, mines as endangered landscapes and their myths, stories or experiences. haunted landscape/s wants to encounter these landscapes, experience them, understand the material, changes, connections, histories and myths of different terrains and translate them into choreographic performative work or installations.
the cycle ORGAN/ismus – poetics of relations combines modules, motives and methods for the realization of different artistic formats and at the same time wants to build or expand structures. because we can only realize those works for which we are able to find or invent structures.
