poetics of relations
a performative fabric for 4 years
with the artistic project ORGAN/ISMUS - poetics of relations we would like to create
for 4 years different interconnecting and interweaving formats of performance, science and discourse. we will reorient our work on the concept of organism. ORGAN/ISMUS - poetics of relations deals with possible relations between bodies, matter, living beings, organisms, structures and spaces.
ORGAN/ISMUS poetics of relations is an examination of human and non-human organs, structures and spaces, which, in the form of motifs, determine the individual focal points of the
annual work cycles: 2022: LUNG, 2023: HEART, 2024: LIVER and
2025: GROWTH. the aim is to (re)discover cultural organizations as artistic resistant and interrelated structures, new artistic ecologies,
as (super)life cells of our society.
for this project we plan an interweaving of modules along the thematic motifs from which the respective artistic practice grows and which is at the same time related to the other modules. large performance-works as well as smaller performance works or interventions, and ongoing formats such as the performative academy and public performance school, are to be developed which link the 4 years.
a rhizomatic thought is the principle
behind what i call the POETICS of RELATION,
in which each and every identity is extended
through a relationship with the OTHER. édouard glissant, 1997
it is about learning together, about taking the risk of relation. we want to literally let ourselves be touched, affected, transformed and politicized by the heterogeneity of the other. for this project we plan an interweaving of several modules along the thematic motifs from which the respective artistic practice grows over 4 years and at the same time is intertwined with the other modules.
the planned modules that are only partly financed are:
- transdisciplinary, multilingual artistic team
- public performance school as an intergenerational ensemble
- translocal performative academy (TPA) for site-specific practice
- theatercombinat as a structural fabric
- document, discourse and methods of practice
over 4 years, artistic practices, modules, motifs and methods will have the opportunity to develop over the longer term and to enter into different combinations that result in artistic works. these motifs, modules, methods build on each other, intertwine, inform each other and result in an interwoven organism over the 4 years.
to understand society as a bio- and eco-social process always means to acknowledge an intimacy with human and non-human others. to look at the body in this way means to understand it as an operative construct, which is open to a constant exchange with the surrounding environment and which is only viable through this exchange. according to this, entities or beings emerge in encounters and are thereby entangled in a network of relations, without which they would not be. in this sense, we want to test an intimacy with human and non-human others in the following 4 years, articulate an artistic ecological sensibility - with manifold interweavings of technologies, identities, gender and ecology.
ORGAN/ISMUS - poetics of relations combines modules, motives and methods for the
realization of different artistic formats and at the same time wants to build or expand structures.
because we can only realize those works for which we are able to find or invent
